together is operated by Aileron Software LLC, an Oregon limited liability company based in Portland, Oregon. By creating an account you agree to these terms. They are written to be read.
The service
together lets you keep a list of things you want to do and shows you where it overlaps with the lists of friends you have mutually connected with. It does not plan outings, send messages between people, or recommend anything. We may change or discontinue features; if we ever discontinue the service, we'll say so plainly on this site.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to use together.
- You sign in with a Google or Apple account you own. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
- You can delete your account at any time in Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
Your list is visible to your circle
Everything on your list — items and the notes you attach — is visible to everyone you are connected with. Connections are mutual: both people tapped. Don't put anything on your list you wouldn't want your whole circle to read.
Acceptable use and objectionable content
The only free text in together is your display name, your photo, and the notes on your items. Don't use them to harass, threaten, impersonate, or demean anyone, and don't post content that is unlawful, hateful, sexually exploitative, or infringes someone else's rights. This applies even inside a private circle.
You can report a person or a specific note from inside the app, and block anyone — blocking removes all visibility in both directions and the blocked person is not told. Reports are reviewed by a human. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, warn the account, or remove the account. We don't promise a response time, but reports are read.
Problem reports and feedback
Separately from reporting a person, you can report a problem or leave feedback from Settings. Both are optional and neither is collected unless you tap send.
A problem report sends what you wrote, which screen you were on, your app version and your phone model, plus a diagnostic trace of what the app did in the minutes beforehand. It carries no account identifier and no location.
Feedback sends what you wrote, which screen you were on, your app version and your phone model, and is stored against your account — so that ten notes from one person can be told apart from ten people who all said the same thing. It carries no diagnostic trace and no location. Nothing from your list is included in either. Both are read by a person, and deleting your account deletes them.
Content and licences
- Your notes and list are yours. You give us the licence needed to store them and show them to your circle — nothing more.
- Film and TV data comes from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
- Book data comes from Open Library.
- Place data comes from Foursquare OS Places (Apache 2.0) and Overture Maps. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors.
Notifications
Notifications are off unless you turn them on, and you can turn them off again in Settings or from your device. What we send, and when, is described in the app where you switch it on.
Liability
together is provided as-is, without warranty. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Aileron Software LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service. What you and your friends do out in the world is — by design — entirely yours.
Changes
If these terms change materially we'll post the new version here with a new date. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept them.
