Child safety standards

Last updated August 23, 2026

together is a shared want-to-do list for real friends, operated by Aileron Software LLC in Portland, Oregon. This page states our standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), how to report a concern, and what we do when we receive one.

Our standards

Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and any content or conduct that sexualizes, exploits, or endangers a minor are prohibited on together. There is no exception, no warning, and no appeal for a first offense. An account used for this purpose is deleted, and the conduct is reported to the authorities named below.

together is built for adults. Our declared audience on Google Play is 18 and over, and the app is not designed for or directed at children.

Why the surface is narrow

Some of this is enforced by what the product simply cannot do. It is worth stating plainly rather than implying we police more than exists:

Reporting a concern

Every person you can see in together can be reported and blocked from inside the app, on their profile. Reporting sends the report straight to us. Blocking severs the connection immediately and hides you from that person.

You can also write to us at together@aileronsoftware.com. If a report concerns a child's safety, say so in the subject line and it goes to the front of the queue.

What we do with a report

A person reads every report. Where a report concerns CSAE we remove the content and the account, preserve the relevant records, and report to the authorities below. We do not require a reporter to prove anything before we act.

Reporting to authorities

As a US provider, Aileron Software LLC reports apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) through its CyberTipline, as required by 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. NCMEC refers reports to the appropriate law enforcement agency, domestically or internationally. We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us and cooperate with lawful requests from law enforcement.

Anyone can report directly to NCMEC at report.cybertip.org. If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

Contact

Our designated point of contact for child safety matters, including questions from Google or from law enforcement about our CSAM prevention practices, is reachable at jannon@aileronsoftware.com.
